BCA Burghfield Blaze/Fire Open *

An excellent low-stress season opener to blow off the winter cobwebs. Burghfield SC has hosted the Blaze season opener for years and continues to be a favourable venue for this early-season shakedown. Entry only £15 - Great value. In 2024, Burghfield’s gusty Fire Inland Championship unfolded around the reservoir’s quirky islands, taking seasoned home-sailor, David Shafto, to a deserved win against a cohort of hardy firebrands. David may yet enter to defend his title if you fancy your chances... Burghfield is a welcoming, friendly club with great facilities, easy launching and decent inland water. The West Berkshire location has delivered exciting conditions for the Blazes for at least 5 consecutive years and the class looks forward to more of the same.

(also available on Burghfield SC website) BSC have offered Blaze and Aero sailors who want to stay on Saturday night that they can join in Club racing on Sunday 30th and take part in the Commodores Cup. This is a similar format to Saturday with 4 short races 2 am and 2 pm.

Camping and camper vans can park overnight in the club and the local Fox and Hounds is only 300 yards away.
