Blaze Northern Championships 2024 *

Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club are very pleased to host the 2024 Blaze  Northern Championships at Grimwith Reservoir on Saturday and Sunday,  20th and 21st July 2024.

Entries and Suggested Entry Donations

To help with planning and organisation please enter online on the YDSC website here.  Online entries will close at 14.00 on Thursday 18th July 2024. The  suggested online entry donation (as we are a charity) for the event is  £30 per boat. Entries in person are suggested to be a donation of £35.

Event Schedule

Saturday 20th July Breakfast available from 9.00 hrs • Registration at the clubhouse from 9.30 hrs • Competitor Briefing Time 11.00 hrs • Race 1 12.00 hrs. (first warning signal 11.55 hrs) Lunch Break – about 13.15 hrs • Races 2 & 3 Back to back races after lunch • If conditions allow Race 4 might be run back to back after Race 3 Supper in the Clubhouse from 18.30 hrs

Sunday 21st July 2024 • Race 4 (or 5) 10.00 hrs (first warning signal at 9.55 hrs) Subject to wind • Race 5 (or 6) Back to back after the previous race Lunch Break – about 12.15 hrs • Race 6 (if needed) Soon after lunch

Other Key Information

Hot food and beverages are available at the Club Galley during the  day on Saturday and Sunday. There are also snacks and cool drinks  vending machines available for use at other times. Saturday Evening – Blaze Supper – booking details will be available  closer to the event. Late bookings must be made at the Galley by 11.00  hrs on Saturday 20th July 2024 and are subject to availability Dietary requests should be made in advance to check availability. For arrivals on Friday an Indian Takeaway may be organised by 17.30 hrs for delivery to the Club.
