It depends on the length of the tiller as well. Some of the older boats have a shorter tiller so a longer tiller extension is required. As a rule of thumb you want the tiller extension to just reach the front corner of the rack.
@Ben Harden thank you for that . I'm thinking of getting an adjustable one for now as I've gone in the drink now so many times all because the tiller is wedged in or wrapped up . But I'll be checking the length this evening . Also considering a b14 set up with twin tillers as that's what I've sailed with for several years now .
